Scholarship Award Competitions
April 17th, 2027
The American Harp Society in Dallas invites students to participate in the Scholarship Award Competitions on April 17th, 2027, at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church in Irving.
Registration will be open from November 1st to March 1st. Prizes will be awarded for the best performance of the required repertoire for each category.
Scholarship Award Competition:
Category I - Students ages 14 and under at the time of the competition
Required Repertoire: Air and Rondo - Bochsa, edited by Sam Milligan from
Medieval to Modern 2
Prize: $250
Category II - Students ages 18 and under at the time of the competition
Required Repertoire: Valse in E-flat Major Op. 83 - Durand / McDonald
Prize: $300
Category III - Students ages 21 and under at the time of the competition
Required Repertoire: The Lark - Glinka, transcribed by Erdeli
Prize: $350
Performances for solo categories of the scholarship competition must be memorized.
Gail Barber Scholarship Award Competition - Students ages 18 and under at the time of the competition
Mexican Serenade (Duet) - Gail Barber
Prize: $400 ($200 per participant)
Students participating in either category must be Dallas AHS members and have a teacher who is also a member. There is a non-refundable $35 registration fee due at the time of registration.
Students participating in the competition must be available to perform at the AHS Dallas student recital on May 2nd, 2027.
